Solid Rock's Legend: Legend found a new home at Dave and Ann Maes of Cadillac, Michigan. While at Solid Rock Llamas he had an impressive, but limited show career. He was second place Juvenile HWM at the 2012 ILR Gathering, and also won his class in both ALSA and ILR at the 2012 Lamafest in Michigan. The last son of Solid Rocks Trademark, and a maternal brother to both Milestone and Cornerstone, Legend represents the best of our breeding program. We wish Dave and Ann great success with him.
Solid Rock's Cornerstone: Our sincere thanks to the Mike Haumschild Family of Warsaw, Ohio for their purchase of our great young prospect Solid Rock's Cornerstone. This son of Casi Cielo and JLL Madison should make a great herdsire for the Haumschild females. At six months of age, Cornerstone was named Grand MWM and Best Bred and Owned Male at the NAILE in Louisville. He added several other Grand Championships and earned his Halter Championship Status from ILR at an early age. We are so excited to see what he will produce for the Haumschild family.
Solid Rock's Milestone: Sold in the 2011 Celebration Sale in Ok City to Auld's Lluminous Llamas in Van Horne, Iowa. Milestone was sired by Gerken's No Compromise on the Ridge and was out of our foundation female JLL Madison. He had received 15 Grand Championships including three Futurities, two of which were back to back LFA champions. He won many other shows from Virginia to Oklahoma. He also won several walking fiber classes as he had the silkiest fiber we have ever produced. We wish the Aulds the best with this great young herd sire.
Gifty: Gifty was our second female we have sold from our top producing lines. She was sired by Mark Smith's Tresor and her dam is our only Inferno daughter, Autumn Applause. With limited time in the showring, she had claimed a Grand Champion Suri Female award at the 2008 NAILE in Louisville, and a Reserve Grand at the 2009 Llamafest in Michigan. We were so thrilled that Bill & Marie Safreed of Ohio were the successful bidders at the 2010 LFA Sale - we know Gifty will continue giving and receiving kisses for the Safreed's.
Snickers: A full brother to Morena, Snickers found a great home with Joe and Becci Young of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was the first of several show winning animals they have purchased. Snickers has claimed championship honors in the halter ring on several occasions and is now one of the Young's winningest non-breeders. Thanks Joe and Becci - you have been a great home for our boys!!
Morena: One of the toughest decisions we have ever made was to put Solid Rock's Morena in Mike Gerken's sale, as she was the best female we had ever raised - out of our great female Enchantment. We were thrilled however when Charlie Stephenson from Oklahoma purchased her, as we know she will have a good home. Thanks Charlie for buying the most decorated female we have ever shown or sold.
Hallmark: This cool young boy looked a lot like his big maternal brother, Trademark. In fact, they were so similar that they won Reserve Champion in a very tough Produce of Dam class at the 2004 ALSA Grand National. It was there that Tina Bruno-Jones from Washington fell in love with him, and he still resides on the west coast.
Robuck: We were thrilled when Joe and Becci Young added yet another son of Enchantment (full brother to Snickers) to their show string. He was Reserve Grand HWM at the 2011 Ohio State Fair and was Grand Champion HWM at the HLAA show in Noblesville, IN. Thanks Joe and Becci for your continued confidence in our breeding program.
Survivor: Joe and Becci Young of Ft. Wayne, Indiana couldn't resist this cool son of Mark Smith's Tresor and out of a daughter of Autumn Applause (maternal sister to Morena and Snickers). He has been a favorite in many shows for the Young's and has been especially successful in showmanship and performance classes.
Gemstone: What a fun year 2005 was showing this cool Tuna Catcher boy and Hallmark. They each did their share of winning, as Gemstone was Reserve Grand at the Millennium Magic in Michigan. Gemstone also found his way out west as he was sold to Rita Zorrozua from Cheney, Washington.
Hey There: When visiting Kay Patterson's Hinterland Ranch in 2006, we found an incredible young male nursing his mom. The male was named Hidalgo and was later Grand Champion Suri Male at the Grand National, and his younger sister, Heylee claimed Grand Championship Suri Female honors at the same show. We were able to buy the maternal sister to these two great animals. Although Hey There is not a suri, she earned the same attention in the show ring as she was Grand Champion Medium Wool Female at the NAILE in Louisville, the only time she was shown.
Autumn Applause: Unfortunately, we were only able to get two progeny from Hard Rock's Inferno before we lost him. Obviously Trademark was the only son sired by him, and Autumn Applause is our only daughter. With limited time in the show ring, she was named Reserve Champion Female at the Ft. Worth Stock Show, placing second to another Inferno daughter shown by Mark Smith. She has produced some nice babies for us, including Solid Rock's Emma who claimed Reserve Champion Suri Female honors at the NAILE in Louisville.
SLLR Ms Marble: We are so grateful to Rob and Donna Spencer for allowing us to buy Ms Marble when we bought her incredible daughter SLLR Lady Isabella. Her first daughter dominated the show ring including winning the LFA World Futurity Show. In an effort to help promote our first March Llama Madness Sale of Champions, we offered Ms Marble along with her Casi daughter in the sale. We were so glad that their new home is with Becky Willhite of Iowa. We know she will find just the right male to breed to this phenomenal female.
Granite: This Casi daughter may be the most uniquely colored little girl we have ever raised. Her dam, SLLR MS. Marble is also the dam of our great LFA Futurity World Champion SLLR Lady Isabella. Her unique color combined with an awesome pedigree should make this girl’s future pretty exciting. She sold with her dam at the 2013 March Llama Madness Sale of Champions.
Ella: Our best Trademark daughter combining his pedigree with Enchantment, our great foundation female. Though not shown extensively, she earned several blue ribbons and has out-performed herself with her cria. Her daughter Casella, sired by Casi, dominated many shows in 2011.
We liked Casella so well that we bred her back to FVL Casi Cielo before he died. We have a beautiful silver 2013 suri male out of the breeding.
