Foundation Females

It is our great pleasure to show you our FOUNDATION FEMALES.  We think that we have put together a predictable set of breeding females based on pedigree and phenotype.
Spend some time looking at the pedigree by clicking on the picture of the animal that you wish to study.

Solid Rock's Flair

Solid Rock’s Flair
DOB: July 31, 2015
Sire: GNLC Scorcher
Dam: NWLF'S M. Butterfly

We were so honored to be able to breed three of our top females to GNLC Scorcher, before Charlie Stephenson took ownership of him. Scorcher was Grand Champion Suri Male as a juvenile at the ILR Gathering, and was Grand at five shows that we exhibited him at in the fall of 2014. Flair is our only daughter of Scorcher, but what an incredible female she has developed into. Her mom is one of our top females, and was named National Supreme Champion Female in 2014 at the ILR Gathering. She was very competitive wherever shown, and her wins included the LFA Futurity.

Flair has done very well in the show ring, including placing second at the ILR Gathering as well as the LFA Futurity. We look forward to retiring her into our breeding herd, and can't wait to see what the next generation will look like.

Solid Rock's Silhouette

Solid Rock’s Silhouette
DOB: November 10, 2012
Sire: FVL Casi Cielo
Dam: JLL Madison

After waiting for several years, we finally have our daughter out of JLL Madison – oh, and she was well worth the wait. This one has her mom’s presence and Casi’s fiber and color. Hopefully, she will follow the championship accomplishments of her maternal brothers Milestone, Cornerstone and Legend – who collectively won over 25 Grand Championships in some of the toughest competition in the country.

NWLF'S M. Butterfly

NWLF’s M. Butterfly
DOB: June 24, 2012
Sire: Frame Work’s Palomo
Dam: NWLF’s Mariposa

We were so excited to find this phenomenal young female while visiting Bob LaMorte's farm. We saw her before we even had gotten out of our car, and knew she had to come to Solid Rock Llama farm if possible. She was still nursing her impressive "Rainman" mother, NWLF'S Mariposa, and I quickly asked to see her daddy, Frame Work's Palomo. After studying his pedigree, we were even more excited about owning this incredible female. We appreciate Bob letting us buy her and she has been fun to show.

She has been named Grand Champion honors at many shows and was Reserve Grand Champion at the 2013 ILR Gathering.  She returned in 2014 to the ILR Gathering to receive the first-ever National Supreme Champion Female Award. To top off her show career, she was named LFA World Futurity Champion Silky Female.

We have retired her from the show ring as she joins the rest of our elite breeding females.  We can't wait to have her first cria - she is a "one of a kind" female.

Solid Rock's Casella

Solid Rock’s Casella
DOB: May 14, 2010
Sire: FVL Casi Cielo
Dam: Solid Rock’s Ella

Casella combines the best of our foundational breeding program (Trademark x Enchantment) and Casi Cielo - the future of our breeding program. She has dominated the show ring in 2011 as she won many shows, earning her the prestigious honor of first place in the 2011 ILR UAP point standings. Many judges have commented about her correct structure and her incredible top-line, features often inherited from her sire. We're not sure who we will breed her to, but look forward to her crias in the next few years.

FVL Tahara

FVL Taraha
DOB: October 7, 2008
Sire: FVL Lumiere
Dam: Tigerina

Merlene found this great female when we were visiting Todd & Cheryl Frey's farm and what a find she has been!!! Out of a great female - Tigerina, and sired by Lumiere, Tahara was Grand or Reserve at several shows throughout the country - from the Viriginia Classic to the Celebration Classic Show in Oklahoma City. We can't wait to start getting babies out of this great female.

JLL Madison

JLL Madison
DOB: July 24, 2003
Sire: LW Marcellus
Dam: PPLP Huckaboo

After attempting to purchase her two full sisters, we were finally the successful bidder of JLL Madison at the 2004 Celebrity Sale, and what a phenomenal female she has been. After winning just about every show she had competed in, she won one of the strongest classes (39 head) of yearlings at the Grand National Show. Usually the first female visitors ask about because of her incredible presence and striking colors, she has proven herself as a foundation female by producing three top males for us - Milestone, Cornerstone and now her current young herd sire prospect Solid Rock's Trademark's Legend.

HCLR Enchantment

HCLR Enchantment
DOB: April 27, 2000
Sire: RAR Old Spice
Dam: Senora Isabel of Tunitas

$1000 she is exposed to Solid Rock's Sandstone for a June cria.

We can't say enough about the contribution Enchantment has made to our breeding program. Purchased at the 2001 Celebrity Sale from the Steffels because of her pedigree (Top Flight & Leroy Brown), she has proven to be a tremendous investment. Every cria she has produced has been in our show string or has been shown by their new owners. Although we sold her most decorated daughter (Solid Rock's Morena - $13,500) to Charlie Stephenson, we have retained several granddaughters including Solid Rock's Casella - who was first in the nation in 2011 for the ILR UAP program, continuing the show ring record of this bloodline.
She is in great shape for her age and we are looking forward to her Sandstone cria. We would be disappointed if this cria is not a stellar cria like her previous offspring.
